Carina Norlund, an award winning singer/songwriter and educator received her Masters degree in Music from The Royal Music Conservatory of Stockholm, Sweden, in 1990. Her emphasis was on music education including piano, voice and guitar methodology with additional studies in music composition, conducting and vocal ensemble.

Carina started playing music and singing early. At the age of eleven she was already part of a prestigious classical guitar ensemble, at thirteen she sang in two impressive choirs, and at fifteen she was performing as a classical vocalist, a guitarist playing both classical and jazz all over Scandinavia.

She also started teaching at an early age. At age 20 she worked at a High School as a music teacher and also took part in a lot of research programs in understanding the effects of music on young children’s brains and developing bodies.

Carina began teaching toddler music classes in 2000. Some of those classes were specifically for children with special needs and she also participated in various music seminars for children and adults with Autism and Down’s syndrome.

Carina Norlund moved to the US, to Chicago, in 1991and started a commercial music company where she wrote music for advertising. She has written numerous music titles for clients such as Ronald McDonald, Seaworld and Discover Card. You probably have heard some of her commercials on the radio or seen some on TV. She kept on teaching and continued to write and develop her music teaching program.

After moving to Los Angeles in 1998 she dissolved her jingle business and continued writing and performing music for young children and she developed the educational music program Grow With Music based on her previous research and experince in teaching. She has been supplying preschools, day cares and parents and their young children with high quality music ever since and with her beautiful voice, her supportive guitar playing and her energetic personality she has become a favorite amongst the children.

In year 2000 her son, Jesper was born. In tribute to her son she wrote, sang, recorded and produced a lullaby CD and published it through CN Hear Music Publishing. Her daughter Linnea was born in 2006 andshe and her brother are Carina’s biggest inspiration to the music she writes and performs.

In 2008 Carina and her family moved from Southern California and they now have made a nice home for themsleves in Aurora, Colorado, where Carina continues the journey of adding her color to the music world of children.
